The representatives of Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus have revealed that German winger will not be leaving the Bundesliga outfit this summer, despite being “flattered” at the interest from a host of teams around Europe.
Reus, 26, has been one of the most highly sought after players in recent years, with clubs from Spain, Italy and England all reported to have been interested in his services.
However, all have been served a blow in their pursuit after the Germany international’s representatives confirmed he would not be leaving the Westfalenstadion this season.
“We read the rumours that are circulating about an alleged transfer for Marco,” read a statement published by Reus’ representatives Sport Total Agency on Tuttojuve.com.
“We can say with certainty that the player is having a wonderful time at Dortmund.
“He is flattered by the interest of many European teams, but he’s recently decided to stay in Dortmund.”
Reus only signed a new four-year deal at Dortmund in February and will be looking to put an injury-plagued season behind him under new coach Thomas Tuchel.
Despite being limited to just 20 appearances and seven goals in the league last season, only three players have scored more goals in the Bundesliga than Reus (73) in the last six years.
