Lazio have lodged a €10m (£7.8m) bid for Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie, according to Turkish outlet Haberler.com, via Football Italia.
Van Persie, who turns 33 in August, has struggled to establish a regular place in the Fenerbahce starting XI since joining from Manchester United last summer.
Lazio are looking to take advantage of the Netherlands international’s unsettled situation and have tabled an offer in two instalments.
However, the Serie A outfit would still need to find a solution to Van Persie’s €5m (£3.9m) per year wages, which could prove the biggest stumbling block in the deal.
Of players to have scored at least 10 goals in the Turkish Super Lig last season, no player required fewer minutes per goal than Van Persie (114.5 mins).
