PSG close in on new left-back

Real Sociedad left-back Yuri has agreed terms with PSG ahead of a potential summer move to the Parisian outfit, reports Spanish publication Marca.

The Ligue 1 side are in the market for a new left-back following Maxwell’s retirement and head coach Unai Emery has identified 27-year-old Yuri as a potential incomer as competition for first choice Layvin Kurzawa.

The Spaniard made 35 starts for Real Sociedad last season, though their asking price is a potential stumbling block in Yuri’s possible switch to France.

The Basque outfit are believed to be demanding €30m for the defender, with PSG only willing to bid €15m for the player, who made 33 accurate crosses from open play in La Liga last season, the second best return of defenders in Spain’s top tier.

PSG are expected to make a number of moves in the summer market, with Monaco pair Kylian Mbappe and Fabinho both high on the club’s wish list.

However, the Ligue 1 champions are reluctant to sell to a league rival and would rather sell abroad, which suits a number of potential suitors, with Real Madrid and Arsenal both keen on Mbappe and Manchester United routinely linked with a move for Fabinho.
