Experienced Chelsea duo to stay until the end of the season

Willian and Pedro will remain at the club until the end of the season, Chelsea have confirmed.

The experienced wingers are out of contract this summer and are set to leave the club when their current deals expire.

However, the pair have agreed to short-term extensions that will allow them to remain with the west London side beyond June 30th.

"Willian and Pedro have both agreed extensions to their existing contracts that allow them to play for Chelsea this season beyond 30 June," a statement read on the official Chelsea website.

"As a result of the global pandemic and the subsequent delayed conclusion to the campaign, Premier League clubs unanimously agreed to be allowed to enter into short-term contract extensions with players whose deals were due to expire at the end of this month.

"Willian and Pedro were among those affected, and they and the club have now mutually agreed to extend contracts until the finale of the current season. It means they will be available for our remaining Premier League fixtures in 2019/20, as well as any future involvement in the FA Cup and Champions League."

Pedro has struggled for game time under Lampard this season, but Willian has been a first team regular for the Blues boss and ranks first for chances created in both the Premier League (56) and the Champions League (19) of all Chelsea players this term.
