Manchester United fail with £39.5m bid for top transfer target

 

Manchester United have failed with an improved bid worth £39.5m for Inter winger Ivan Perisic, reports Sky Sport Italia, via Football Italia.

 

Inter have maintained they want £48m for Perisic throughout negotiations with the Premier League giants and will continue to reject bids unless their valuation is met.

 

It was reported that Inter had set United a deadline to match their demand by June 30 or the Croatia international would be taken off the market.

 

However, Jose Mourinho’s side haven’t given up hope just yet but will need to increase their offer to have any chance of landing the 28-year-old.

Perisic played a direct hand in 19 league goals for Inter last season, which is his best ever return in a single-league campaign. However, of players that scored 10 Serie A goals last season, Perisic had the worst conversion rate (10.6%).
