Chelsea have agreed a club-record fee worth up to £90m for Bayer Leverkusen starlet Kai Havertz, claims The Daily Mail.
Frank Lampard's side have been locked in talks with Leverkusen for weeks over Havertz, who is now expected to sign a five-year deal with the Blues.
Chelsea will reportedly pay an initial £72m plus a further £18m in performance related add-ons, shattering their club transfer record.
The Premier League giants have already signed Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and welcomed Hakim Ziyech from Ajax this summer.
Chelsea's business will not finish at Havertz's arrival, with Ben Chilwell on his way from Leicester and former Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva set to join on a free transfer.
Chelsea are by far and away the clear winners of the summer at this stage in the Premier League and Lampard will now be expected to challenge for the Premier League title next term.
Havertz exploded into form at the turn of the year and has since emerged as one of the best young players in Europe.
The 21-year-old played a direct hand in 18 goals (12 goals, six assists) in 30 Bundesliga appearances and six goals (four goals, two assists) in five Europa League appearances in 2019/20.
Havertz is capable of playing out wide, up front or in central midfield and his versatility will be particularly appealing for Lampard.
