Simone Zaza’s father has revealed the striker’s loan deal with West Ham will be cut short and he will return to Juventus next month.
The Italy international has endured a nightmare six months with West Ham after joining on an initial season-long loan deal with a view to becoming the club’s record signing at the end of the current campaign.
Zaza hasn’t featured for the Hammers since in exactly one month after struggling with a knee injury, although he wasn’t likely to have been selected given the fact there is a reported clause in his loan deal that would have made his switch permanent after so many appearances for the club.
“The West Ham adventure is finished and we are looking at different options for his future,” his father, Antonio, told Tuttosport, via talkSPORT.
The 25-year-old isn’t expected to stay at Juventus for the remainder of the season, with Valencia a club that has been regularly mooted with his signature in recent weeks.
Antonio confirmed his son would be interested in signing for Valencia for the rest of the season, but insists that isn’t the only option available to the Italian striker.
“We’re speaking with Valencia but theirs is not the only concrete option we’re considering. Of course, my son would love to be coached by a great coach like [Valencia manager] Cesare Prandelli, but it’s possible that Simone could return to Serie A," he added.
“We are not considering the possibility of a return to Juventus. We’re a long, long way from that point of view.”
In eight league appearances for West Ham this season Zaza failed to score from any of his 16 shots on goal, while he only actually tested the opposition goalkeeper with 2 of those.
