Liverpool to lose midfielder in the summer

Pedro Chirivella is set to leave Liverpool for Ligue 1 side Nantes when his contract expires next month, reports 20 Minutes via Football365.

The 22-year-old has made just one Premier League appearance since joining the Liverpool youth academy in 2013.

Since being drafted into the senior squad, Chirivella has been sent out on loan to Dutch pair Go Ahead Eagles and Willem II, as well as Spanish side Extremadura.

However, the youngster has failed to trouble for a regular sport in the Reds senior XI under both Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp, featuring heavily in both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

As such, Chirivella is unwilling to extend his stay on Merseyside and he looks set to leave as a free agent in the summer.

Having impressed in both domestic cup competitions, there are a number of interested parties in Chirivella and it's rumoured that Nantes are set to secure his services later this year.

It's reported that Chirivella will put pen to paper on a three-year deal for the French side, who finished the 2019/20 Ligue 1 campaign in 13th after the season was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
