Everton manager Roberto Martinez has ruled out claims suggesting they will move for defender Ron Vlaar.
Vlaar, 30, is currently a free agent having left Aston Villa at the end of last season and spent the start of the campaign training with former club AZ Alkmaar.
Everton are currently without captain Phil Jagielka for more than a month, but Martinez has ruled out the signing of the Netherlands international.
[Ron Vlaar] has experience in the Premier League. He is unattached, but there has been no discussions and nothing to comment on,” the Everton manager is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
In the three years Vlaar spent at Villa Park, no defender provoked more offsides than the Dutchman for Villa (76).
