Manchester City move ahead of Real Madrid in race for Juventus star

Manchester City have made a huge stride in their pursuit of Juventus star Paulo Dybala and are now ahead of rivals Real Madrid in the race to land the forward, reports The Daily Mirror.

Dybala, 23, is widely regarded as one of the most exciting forwards emerging out of one of Europe’s top five leagues and Juventus could be made to pay for his £38.3m release clause.

Juventus are currently in talks with the Argentine striker over a new deal that would either take out his release clause or significantly increase the current one but City have reportedly been in contact with the forward’s agent and a deal could be struck this summer.

The Serie A giants would reportedly rather sell Dybala to City than strengthen Madrid even more, which has given Pep Guardiola’s side the upper hand.

Since the start of last season no Juventus player has scored more goals in Serie A than Dybala (24).
