Bayern Munich ace only wants to play for German giants

Franck Ribery has hinted he will retire once his time at Bayern Munich comes to an end after revealing he doesn’t want to play football anywhere else.

The former France international signed a new 12-month extension with Bayern in November keeping him with the reigning Bundesliga champions until the end of next season when he will be 35.

Ribery has struggled with reoccurring injuries during the twilight years of his career but he has been a regular under Carlo Ancelotti this season when he has been fit to feature.

His long-term future remains in doubt with the likes of Kingsley Coman and Douglas Costa waiting in the wings but the 33-year-old insists Bayern will be the last club he plays for.

“I can feel that I can still play for another two or three years,” he told BILD, via Get French Football. “I know my body very well. If I continue, it will be at Bayern Munich and nowhere else.

“I do not want to play anywhere else. This is my club, my home… And even after my career I will stay in Munich. That is certain.”

Despite only featuring in less than 40% of the Bundesliga season, Ribery has still played a direct hand in 10 goals from his 14 appearances, in which six came from the bench.

In fact, of players that have registered more than three assists in the Bundesliga this season only Cesc Fabregas (1 every 91.3 minutes) requires fewer minutes per assists than Ribery (every 114 mins).
