Spurs plot audacious swoop for Liverpool creator

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen on reuniting with Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana at White Hart Lane in the summer, according to The Sun.

Lallana, 28, was one of Pochettino’s key players during his full season in charge of Southampton before both player and manager left for pastures new in 2014.

The England international’s Liverpool career looked to be drifting under Brendan Rodgers but his performances have improved dramatically since Jurgen Klopp arrived in October.

With Klopp expected to reshape his Liverpool squad in the summer, Spurs are hopeful of taking advantage of any uncertainty in the Lallana camp and are willing shell out £20m to acquire his signature.

In fact, Lallana’s WhoScored.com rating has jumped up from 6.90 in 31 appearances under Rodgers to 7.11 in 25 league appearances under Klopp. In the time Klopp has been at the club, Lallana has also played a direct hand in two more league goals despite featuring in fewer games (10 – four goals, six assists).
