Barcelona midfielder set for Galatasaray loan move

Arda Turan has secured a return to Turkey and will re-join Galatasaray on a two-year loan deal, reports RAC1 radio station, via Marca.

The Turkey international does not feature in Ernesto Valverde’s plans at Barcelona and will complete a move to Galatasaray before the transfer window for Turkish teams shuts on Friday.

Turan has been a huge disappointment since joining Barcelona for £24m from rivals Atletico Madrid in 2015 and is poised to re-join his boyhood club.

The 30-year-old came through the Galatasaray youth academy before earning a high profile move to Atletico in 2011, where he established himself as one of the club’s best players.

However, for Barcelona, Turan has only started 25 league games in the last three seasons, scoring five goals in the process. In last season’s Champions League, no player required fewer minutes per goal than the Barcelona midfielder (1 every 43 minutes of action).
