Wolves are on the verge of signing Benfica striker Raul Jimenez on a season-long loan deal, claims The Daily Mail.
Jimenez was linked with a move to Everton last summer but now newly promoted side Wolves are closing in on his signature.
Nuno’s side are expected to pay an initial £3m loan fee for the 27-year-old, who has been included in Mexico’s 2018 World Cup squad.
Wolves have already made Benik Afobe’s loan switch permanent this summer but the 25-year-old is already being touted with a move to Stoke.
Jimenez has failed to break into the Benfica starting XI since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2015.
The No.9 has only started 12 of Benfica’s 68 league matches over the last two seasons, making 40 appearances as a substitute in that time, more than any other player.
Jimenez showed his worth as a super-sub last season, playing a direct hand in nine goals off the bench, at least two more than any other Liga NOS player.
