Everton manager Ronald Koeman is interested in signing Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul as Tim Howard’s replacement, according to The Guardian.
Howard, 34, joined Colorado Rapids at the end of last season after nine years at Goodison Park and the new Everton manager has already begun the search for his successor.
Krul only has 12 months remaining on his current deal with Newcastle and has been sidelined through injury since October last year.
The Netherlands international has been Newcastle’s No.1 for the last five campaigns but is likely to be high in demand following Newcastle’s relegation to the Championship.
