Arsenal have announced Lucas Perez has returned to Spain to re-join boyhood club Deportivo La Coruna on a season-long loan deal.
Perez joined the Gunners a year to the day but has endured a disastrous time in England since making the £17m switch from Deportivo.
The 28-year-old had offers from Newcastle, Everton and Sevilla this summer but has opted to return to Deportivo, who will have the option to make the transfer permanent.

The versatile Spanish forward grew increasingly frustrated by his lack of playing time at Arsenal last season and Arsene Wenger was forced to apologise to Perez after the club went behind his back to hand new club-record signing Alexandre Lacazette his No.7 shirt.
Perez was limited to just two starts in the Premier League and opportunities were not as forthcoming in Europe either. However, no player had a direct hand in a Champions League goal more frequently than Perez last season (1 every 27.2 minutes of action).
