Manchester United ready to double the salary of Juventus star

Manchester United believe they can prise Alex Sandro away from Juventus by doubling his salary, claims The Daily Mirror.

Jose Mourinho wants to sign a new left-back at the end of the season having been forced to play 32-year-old Ashley Young in that position all season.

Luke Shaw’s time at the club appears destined to end in the summer and the United boss is ready to move for former Chelsea target Sandro.

The Brazil international was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in January after reportedly growing unhappy at Juventus.

Chelsea failed to get a deal over the line before signing Emerson from Roma, meaning United may have a clear run at Sandro’s services in the summer.

Mourinho’s side are aware of Juventus’ interest in Matteo Darmian and hope to use the Italy international, who has no future at Old Trafford, as a makeweight in discussions with the Old Lady.

The Red Devils are reportedly even willing to hand Sandro a £145,000-a-week salary, which is double what he currently earns at Juventus, to convince the 27-year-old to move to England.

Sandro has played a direct hand in seven goals in 18 Serie A appearances this season. Furthermore, no Juventus player has a higher WhoScored rating than Sandro (7.58) in Serie A since the start of last season.
