Everton close in on big money capture

Everton are closing in on a deal for Watford winger Richarlison that could eventually be worth £50m, reports BBC Sport.

He only moved to England last summer from Brazilian side Fluminense for £11.5m after playing a starring role for Brazil at the U20 World Cup.

New Everton boss Marco Silva was part of the management staff that brought Richarlison to Watford last year and the Portuguese boss is keen to reunite with the youngster.

The 21-year-old made a huge impact upon his arrival in England, yet the last of his five league goals came back in November.

Richarlison flittered in an out of the Hornets starting XI following Javi Gracia’s appointment at Vicarage Road with Watford willing to listen to offers for the forward.

Everton were hoping to pay around £35m to secure his services, but additional clauses should see that fee rise close to Watford’s asking price of £50m.

While the player started life in England brightly, his form dipped from December with a conversion rate of 5.3% the worst of those to score five or more goals in the Premier League last season.
