Manchester United ponder £65m move for England’s 2018 World Cup hero

Manchester United are still interested in Leicester ace Harry Maguire and are pondering a stunning £65m move for the centre-back, claims The Daily Mail.

Maguire was a revelation for England at the 2018 World Cup and has quickly emerged as one of the most sought after defenders in the Premier League following his exploits in Russia.

Jose Mourinho is determined to sign another centre-back before the start of next season and has shifted his interest from Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld to Maguire.

Alderweireld has 12 months remaining on his existing deal but United have no interest matching Tottenham’s £70m valuation.

Leicester are desperate to keep Maguire and are currently working on a bumper new deal for the 25-year-old, but the Foxes are also drafting potential replacements.

Chelsea veteran Gary Cahill has been touted as a short-term replacement for Maguire, while Barcelona’s Yerry Mina is also being considered by the Foxes.

In the last two Premier League campaigns, Maguire has completed more dribbles than any other defender (80).
