Aston Villa are prepared to sell Ashley Westwood to Burnley in order to fund a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak, according to The Daily Mirror.
Roberto Di Matteo is keen to add physicality to Villa's lightweight squad before the transfer window shuts and has identified former Palace captain Jedinak as a top transfer target.
Villa have already made five signings this summer but haven't finished in the transfer market just yet after they followed up defeat in their first Championship game with defeat in the first round of the League Cup.
Only two players have completed more interceptions in the last three Premier League campaigns than Jedinak (276).
