Wolves consider £18m release clause of Championship sensation
Newly promoted Premier League side Wolves are interested in signing Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore, claims The Independent.
Wolves want to bolster their offensive options before their first season back in the Premier League since 2012 and have earmarked Traore as a potential target.
The 22-year-old was a revelation for Middlesbrough in the Championship last season and now Tony Pulis’ side are bracing themselves for interest in their star forward.
Traore has an £18m release clause in his existing contract, which would leave Middlesbrough powerless in keeping the Spaniard if any team stepped forward and matched it.
The powerful winger is almost unstoppable in full flow and has quickly established himself as something of a dribbling machine.
Traore’s end product often flatters to deceive but he at least finished last season with five goals and 10 assists in 36 league appearances.
He finished last season as the highest WhoScored rated player in the Championship (7.80) and completed more dribbles than any other player (262), even more than the second and third highest players combined.
