Valencia close in on Juventus midfielder

Valencia are closing in on a deal to sign Juventus midfielder Tomas Rincon, reports Superdeporte, via Football Espana.

Rincon only joined Juventus from Italian rivals Genoa at the start of the year but he has dropped even further down the pecking order this summer following the club’s activity in the transfer window.

Los Che have already signed Neto from Juventus and the Spanish side are now hopeful of concluding more business with their European counterparts after thrashing out personal terms with Rincon’s agent in Valencia on Sunday.

Paris Saint-Germain outcast Grzegorz Krychowiak and Inter midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia are alternatives for Valencia, but a move for 29-year-old Rincon would be significantly cheaper.

Of the 108 players that have attempted at least 100 dribbles in the last three Serie A campaigns, only Milan Badelj (80.4%) and Kondogbia (75.4%) have a better success rate than Rincon (75%).
