The agent of Clement Lenglet has revealed his client will speak to new Sevilla head coach Pablo Machin before deciding on a summer move to Barcelona.
Lenglet has emerged as a top transfer target for Barcelona this summer after making a seamless transition to life at Sevilla.
The Spanish side signed Lenglet from Nancy in 2017 and he has since been linked with a move to the Premier League.
Ernesto Valverde is considering signing a new centre-back before the start of next season following Yerry Mina’s early struggles at the club.
The Colombia international has endured a difficult first six months at Barcelona and could even leave the club this summer.
However, Lenglet’s agent, Gregory Dakad, says a potential move to Barcelona first hinges on talks with Sevilla’s new head coach.
“Lenglet is on vacation and will not decide [on his future] until he speaks with his new coach,” he told Estadio Deportivo, via Goal. “There is no news. The idea remains the same and we want to respect Sevilla.”
Lenglet featured in at least 602 more minutes of La Liga action than any other Sevilla player this season (3,002).
