Manchester United have confirmed Lee Grant has extended his current deal until the end of next season.
Grant's previous deal was due to expire at the end of the current campaign having only signed for the Red Devils in the summer of 2018.
The 37-year-old, who is currently sidelined with injury, has made just two appearances for United in that time.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have moved to secure Grant's services for another season as back-up to David de Gea and Sergio Romero.
"I love being here and clearly somebody likes me being here also, so it's good to have sorted it," he told the club's official website. "I'm just looking forward to being part of next year and part of watching the football club grow and move forward, which for me, has been happening clearly over the last 18 months anyway.
"But seeing those seeds that have been planted and getting the chance to hopefully see the fruits of that next year will be nice. Obviously, I'm very much used to it now because I'm at the tail-end of my career and it's kind of normal to be in those situations [having a contract run down].
"It happens in every footballer's life, it's part of it, coming to the end of contracts and time at a football club and not not knowing where you find yourself. So, sometimes, the instability can be unsettling. Fortunately for me, it's another year sorted and it gives me the opportunity to plan ahead and get cracking.
"Of course, I'm not after any sympathy, I don't think anyone else does, but it does throw up challenges when you've got family and living situations to sort out, so I'm delighted to be able to really focus on my work."
While Grant's short-term future is sorted, the same cannot be said for De Gea and Romero.
It's unclear whether Romero will stick around to be back-up goalkeeper for another season, while De Gea is under pressure from Dean Henderson, who is flourishing out on loan at Sheffield United this season.
Grant has finished on the losing side in both of his first-team appearances for United, going down 2-1 to Astana in the Europa League this season and losing 10-9 on penalties to Derby in the EFL Cup in September 2018.
