Lukaku’s agent hints at Manchester United summer exit

The agent of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has suggested his client will consider his future at the club this summer.

United shelled out an initial £75m to sign Lukaku from Premier League rivals Everton in the summer of 2017 but the Belgian striker has dropped down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Norwegian has installed Marcus Rashford as his first choice striker since replacing Jose Mourinho as United boss before Christmas and Lukaku’s future is now uncertain at the club.

Lukaku has previously been linked with a move to Serie A, where his brother plays for Lazio, and his agent, Federico Pastorello, says his client will consider his future in order to win trophies.

“He sees a way to have a career playing in different countries because he would like to win some trophies and prove himself and say to his children: ‘I won there and I won there and I won there’ and ‘I was a very good player in all the top championships,” he told The Sun.

“So let’s see, the future is really very open but, at the moment, we don’t discuss about that because really the season is in a big moment.

“The competition for third and fourth place in England is very tight so let’s see what will happen in the future at the end of the season.”

Lukaku has scored at least 16 more goals in all competitions than any other United player since joining the club (42).
