Bournemouth have announced the arrival of Huddersfield midfielder Philip Billing in a deal worth a reported £15m.
Billing has put pen to paper on long-term deal and becomes Bournemouth’s third signing of the summer.
The 23-year-old had entered the final 12 months of his Huddersfield contract and was not given a squad number by the club for the upcoming season.
Billing was a rare positive in an otherwise disasterous campaign for Huddersfield last season, as the Terriers were relegated from the Premier League.
Billing moved to Huddersfield from Danish side Esbjerg in 2013 and has now been given an immediate return to the Premier League by Bournemouth.
“I’m delighted to become an AFC Bournemouth player,” Billing told the club’s official website. “As soon as I heard of the club’s interest, there was never any doubt in my mind.
“It was an easy decision to make to come into a squad which is full of talented, international players and working with a manager of Eddie Howe’s quality.
“This is an exciting step forward for me and I can’t wait to get forward.”
The Cherries have now spent more than £30m on new players this summer having already signed Lloyd Kelly and Jack Stacey from Bristol City and Luton, respectively.
Huddersfield only won three Premier League matches last season and all of those victories came with Billing, who represented Denmark at this summer’s U21 European Championships, in the starting XI.
