Real Madrid manager urges club to sign Chelsea lynchpin

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has pleaded with club president Florentino Perez to sign Chelsea ace N’Golo Kante this summer, reports Spanish publication Don Balon.

The France international played an instrumental role in the Blues’ title success and has earned countless individual awards in recent weeks, with his exploits not going unrecognised.

While Chelsea are unlikely to entertain offers for the French midfielder, Zidane has urged Real Madrid supremo Perez to move for the former Caen and Leicester star.

Real Madrid are on the cusp of domestic and continental success, with a win over Malaga today securing Los Blancos their first La Liga title since the 2011/12 season.

Victory over Juventus in the Champions League final in Cardiff next month would then see Real Madrid make history as they become the first team to defend the historic trophy.

Despite this, Zidane is eager to improve Real Madrid further and has earmarked Kante as a potential target, despite the manager being able to call upon Casemiro in a similar position.

Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for Blues teammate Eden Hazard in recent months, but Zidane believes the Spanish giants would have better luck in pursuing Kante, who has made the second most tackles (123) in the Premier League this season.
