Inter president Erick Thohir could give former Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic an escape route to his MLS franchise DC United, according to Serbian radio station Televizija BN.
Vidic, 33, has failed to settle in Serie A since making the switch from United in 2014 and has been injured since Christmas.
The former Serbia international has an option to extend his current deal at Inter, which expires at the end of the season, by a further 12 months.
However, the Serie A league leaders could look to resolve the solution by offloading Vidic to DC United, which Thohir part owns.
Despite Vidic's struggles, no Inter player was named man of the match more times than the former United captain during his maiden league campaign at the San Siro last season (4).
