Monaco winger set for Nice medical

Nice are set to follow up the arrival of Wesley Sneijder with the signing of highly rated Monaco youngster Allan Saint-Maximin, reports RMC Sport.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan with Bastia but does appear to have worked his way into Leonardo Jardim's plans at Monaco despite an impressive campaign.

Saint-Maximin will reportedly undergo his Nice medical on Monday before joining on a permanent transfer, although it remains to be seen how much Lucien Favre’s side will pay for the winger.

Monaco have been gutted of several star players this summer and have used that money to reinvest into the future. In fact, six of the seven players that have signed are aged 23 or under. However, Saint-Maximin is one youngster set to leave.

Only Neymar (168) and Eden Hazard (143) completed more dribbles in Europe’s top five leagues last season than Saint-Maximin (142).

However, he remains a raw talent. He only scored three goals and registered two assists for Bastia last season, while he was dispossessed more times than any other player in Europe’s top leagues (135).
