Manchester United want to secure Mason Greenwood’s long-term future with a bumper new deal, claims The Sun.
Greenwood has been a revelation for United during their pre-season preparations and looks primed for first-team action next term.
The 17-year-old forward scored in pre-season wins over Leeds and Inter, scoring a sublime winner against the latter.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Greenwood, who can take all set-pieces with either foot, has a huge future at Old Trafford.
Solskjaer plans to blood the teenager into his first-team plans for the coming season, particularly if Romelu Lukaku departs this summer.
Greenwood’s current contract is only worth £800-a-week and United plan to offer the teen a lucrative new deal as a reward for his quick development.
United have now returned from their pre-season tour of Australia and Singapore, in which the Red Devils recorded four wins from four.
Solskjaer’s side netted eight goals across those matches and every one was either scored or assisted by an academy graduate.
