Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed Wendell’s ankle operation was a success but he will miss their remaining three matches of the season.
Wendell, 22, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this season as Zinedine Zidane’s side look to bolster their options at left-back.
The Leverkusen defender will, however, take no part in their remaining three matches of the season after injuring his ankle in training in the week.
Only Julian Baumgartlinger (186) has completed more tackles and interceptions combined in the Bundesliga this season than Wendell (184).
