The latest record Cristiano Ronaldo has broken in Spain
Real Madrid were forced to come from behind against Real Betis to regain top spot in La Liga last night, with Cristiano Ronaldo cancelling out Antonio Sanabria's first half strike and breaking yet another Spanishh top-flight record in the process.
After Barcelona's shock defeat to Deportivo opened the door for Zidane's men to return to the league's summit, with that result putting an end to the longest unbeaten run (19 matches) all season in Europe's top 5 leagues, it certainly wasn't plain sailing for Los Blancos.
However, goals from two of the club's most trusted stars ensured Madrid picked up all three points, and while yet another late, headed goal from Sergio Ramos sealed the win, Ronaldo's leveller was a record-breaking one. It was 46th headed goal that the Portuguese has scored in La Liga, The Independent reveal, putting him one clear of Athletic Club's Aritz Aduriz.
While this has been far from Ronaldo's most impressive season in front of goal, on course to achieve his lowest league tally for Real Madrid - currently on 19 goals - the 32-year old is still setting incredible standards in Spain.
He needs seven more goals to match his total from his first season at Madrid, with 12 games still to play as Zidane's men target a first league title in five years.
