LA Galaxy have announced they have signed Villarreal midfielder Jonathan Dos Santos.
The MLS giants already have Givoanni Dos Santos in their squad and have now moved to reunite the Mexico international with his younger brother.
Jonathan established himself as a first team regular during his three years at Villarreal after being deemed surplus to requirements by Barcelona in 2014.
Villarreal signed Malaga midfielder Pablo Fornals earlier this week, which paved the way for the Galaxy to sign the 27-year-old in a deal worth a reported €4.3m (£3.9m).
“Jonathan is a quality player that we think instantly becomes a top midfielder in Major League Soccer,” LA Galaxy General Manager Pete Vagenas told the club's official website.
“His signing will significantly improve our team as we continue to push for the playoffs and, ultimately, a sixth MLS Cup. We believe Jonathan will be a leader during the second half of this season and for years to come. We look forward to him joining our squad.”
In three seasons with Villarreal, Dos Santos weighed in with nine goals in 88 league appearances (four goals, five assists).
