Arsene Wenger has revealed he doesn’t know when Jack Wilshere will be back playing football after suffering a set back in his return from injury.
Wilshere, 23, has been sidelined since September after breaking his leg and had initially been ruled out for three months.
However, Wenger has revealed the England international has suffered another set back and now doesn’t know when he will be back in an Arsenal shirt.
“He will not be back before February. That’s for sure,” Wenger is quoted as saying by The Daily Telegraph. “I say February but honestly I don’t know. I let him do his recovery. It’s going slowly.
“Once he goes outside to train and is back again into sharp, hard work physically, you count five or six weeks. At the moment he is not there yet.”
Since the start of the 2009/10 campaign, Wilshere has started (79 games) in less than half the amount of matches he has missed in the Premier League (167) and Arsenal’s win percentage is higher without him (59.9%).
