Pjanić ruled out for three weeks

Roma will be without midfielder Miralem Pjanić for up to three weeks after sustaining a calf strain on international duty with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Pjanić, 25, was forced off during Bosnia’s 3-0 win over Andorra in their Euro qualifier match on Sunday and it has now been revealed the former Lyon midfielder will now be sidelined for between 15 and 20 days.

The news means Roma will almost certainly be without Pjanić for their Champions League encounter with Barcelona on September 16, as well as league meetings with Frosinone, Sassuolo and Sampdoria.

Pjanić ruled out for three weeks

Pjanić has started the season in fine fashion and his absence will be a huge loss to Rudi Garcia’s early season progress. In fact, no Giallorossi player has a higher WhoScored rating (7.70) after the first two league games of the season.
