Key Leicester forward hoping for Arsenal switch

Leicester attacker Riyad Mahrez is looking to leave the club this summer and is hoping to secure a move to the capital, with Arsenal his preference, according to the Sunday Express.

Mahrez came close to leaving the Foxes in January as Manchester City pushed to secure his services at the turn of the year.

The Algerian went on strike and handed in a transfer request in order to force through a transfer that eventually failed to materialise.

Mahrez has since withdrawn his transfer request, yet is still hoping to leave the King Power Stadium this summer in pursuit of regular European football.

Tottenham and Chelsea are also monitoring Mahrez’s situation, but it’s believed he favours a move to the Emirates Stadium ahead of the London pair.

While he’s failed to the hit the heights of his form that saw him win the Premier League title with Leicester, 27-year-old Mahrez has still chipped in with 10 goals and eight assists this season.
