Watford announce new deal for Gracia

Watford have announced Javi Gracia has penned a new four-year deal keeping him at the club until the summer of 2023.

Gracia’s previous deal was due to expire at the end of the season but the Hornets have moved to secure his long-term future.

Watford appointed the former Malaga head coach at the end of January and the 48-year-old helped steer the club away from relegation.

Gracia’s future was unclear in the summer but Watford have been a real surprise package this season.

The Hornets have faltered of late but are still in the top half of the table and only two points adrift of sixth-place Everton.

“I am very happy to extend my contract,” Gracia told the club’s official website. “I am very proud in this moment to be part of this club and to belong here for more seasons.”
