Real Madrid want Borussia Dortmund striker in the summer
Real Madrid are eyeing up a move for Borussia Dortmund hitman Erling Haaland this summer, reports The Standard.
Haaland only moved to Dortmund in January, joining from Salzburg, with the Norwegian forward favouring a move to the Bundesliga side as he believed Germany would be the best place to further develop his game.
The 19-year-old has made an immediate impact in the Bundesliga, notching nine goals and registering one assist in eight league appearances since his switch at the turn of the year.
And it's his prolific form that has attracted interest from Real Madrid as head coach Zinedine Zidane seeks to sign a new forward.
Luka Jovic has disappointed following his arrival from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer and the Serb striker recently landed himself in hot water by breaking quarantine to see his girlfriend.
With Karim Benzema also struggling in front of goal since Christmas, Zidane is keen to see Haaland move to the Bernabeu to ease Los Blancos' recent goalscoring woes.
Haaland, 19, has a £50m release clause in his current Dortmund contract, but it remains to be seen whether that can be activated this summer or further down the line.
