AC Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli insists the Serie A giants are not interested in signing Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata this summer.
Morata returned to Madrid last summer after Zinedine Zidane’s side triggered a buy-back clause in his contract at Juventus but the Spain international has once again struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular.
The 24-year-old has actually been in tremendous form when called upon by Zidane and there is a strong case that he should actually be first choice ahead of Karim Benzema.
However, interest is strong in the forward and he is expected to leave the reigning European champions for the second time this summer with a number of Europe’s big hitters reported to be interested in his services.
Reports emerged over the weekend suggesting Mirabelli had been in contact with Morata’s representatives after attending Madrid’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid last week, but the Milan chief has since dispelled those claims.
“I went to Madrid to watch a game and not for Morata,” he told Mediaset Premium, via AS. “He is of no interest to Milan. Our strategy will be independent of the final placement. Our plans will not change based on our final position in the table.”
Only Cristiano Ronaldo (20) has scored more goals than Morata (15) in La Liga for Madrid this season, while only Lionel Messi requires fewer minutes per league goal (1 every 75.8 minutes) than Morata in Spain’s top-flight (every 84 mins).

i know morata is a better striker than benzema but benzema have always been a false 9 in real madrid squad that way he gave cristiano the chance to poach and be more prolific, whenever morata plays alongside cristiano he cover up the space that cristiano used to take thus he gets frustrated and we all know even at 32 cristiano is still a better choice than morata thus the only way that real can take advantage of both is to play with 2 strikers morata and ronaldo and the rest can be edited whether it's a 4-4-2, 4-1-2-1-2 or a 3-5-2 it depends on the opponent and that way we can have a lethal attack, unstoppable midfield and an unbrakable defence like the one against atletico last week it's my opinion
