Borussia Dortmund on brink of signing €30m Sancho replacement
Borussia Dortmund are on the verge of clinching a deal to sign PSV forward Donyell Malen, claims Ruhr Nachrichten.
The Bundesliga outfit earmarked Malen as their top transfer target to replace Jadon Sancho at the start of the summer.
Sancho has all but secured a £72m move to Manchester United and Dortmund have finally made a breakthrough in talks to prise Malen from PSV.
Dortmund were initially reluctant to match PSV's €30m (£25.7m) asking price for the Netherlands international but have finally agreed to it.
PSV will not receive the full fee with small percentages going to Ajax and Arsenal after Malen spent time at both before turning professional.
Malen broke into PSV's first-team during the 2017/18 campaign but it wasn't until the following season he really made an impact.
The 22-year-old has scored 10+ goals in each of PSV's last three campaigns, netting more in each season.
Malen was the second top goal scorer in the Eredivisie last season (19) but actually scored at least four more goals from open play (17) than any other player.
Malen is everything but a replacement for Sancho. That would be a winger with a very strong dribbling and not a central forward like Malen, who is no 1vs1 player.
