Leicester City will reunite their interest in Nice midfielder Nampalys Mendy if they fail to keep hold of N’Golo Kante this summer, reports The Daily Mirror.
Claudio Ranieri failed with an £8m bid to sign the Nice midfielder last summer before actually moving for Kante and is interested in signing the former France U21 international again 12 months on.
Mendy, 23, who has 12 months remaining on his current deal, was an ever-present member in the Nice side that finished fourth in Ligue 1 this season and Leicester will have to match their £12m valuation of Mendy if they are to successfully sign him this time around.
Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs interested in signing Kante this summer and the France international appears the most likely member from their title winning squad that will make a high profile move after the Euros.
Only Dennis Appiah (3,420) featured in more minutes in Ligue 1 of all outfielders this season than Mendy (3,392).
