Chelsea on alert as Bonucci’s agent confirms exit plans
Chelsea and Manchester City have been put on red alert after the agent of Leonardo Bonucci sensationally revealed they are planning on leaving Juventus this summer.
Reports on Wednesday suggesting AC Milan had made an audacious move for the Italy international and had even agreed personal terms with the 30-year-old over a summer move.
Bonucci has established himself as one of the most revered defenders in Europe in the last few years and has regularly been linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester City in the last 12 months.
Despite only signing a new contract with Juventus in December, Bonucci’s future is now completely up in the air after his agent, Alessandro Lucci, told Sportitalia, via Football Italia: “We’re working on a sale.”
There has reportedly been tension between Bonucci and Juventus head coach Max Allegri since last season and the Italian is understood to be seeking a new challenge.
While Chelsea and Manchester City would jump at the chance to sign the veteran defender, Bonucci’s family aren’t keen on the idea of leaving Italy, which would potentially put Milan in the driving seat for his signature.
In the last three Serie A campaigns Bonucci has completed the most accurate long balls of all outfielders (618).
