Manchester City have entered talks with Bayern Munich to sign £40m-rated left-back David Alaba, according to The Sun.
Alaba, 24, emerged as one of Bayern’s most influential players under Guardiola and signed a new five-year deal with the Bundesliga giants in March earlier this season.
The Spaniard now wants to reunite with Alaba in Manchester as he seeks to sign new full-backs in order to fully implement his style of play at the club.
City aren’t expecting to sign the Austria international in January but are currently working on a transfer at the end of the season.
Alaba has completed at least four more crosses than any other Bayern player in the Bundesliga this season (10).
