Serie A is Alexis Sanchez's most likely way out of Manchester United

Manchester United believe there is a good chance they can offload Alexis Sanchez this summer with Serie A duo Inter and Juventus both keen, claims The Independent.

Sanchez has been a huge failure since joining United from Arsenal in January 2018 and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are desperate to move him on before the start of next season.

As well as struggling on the pitch, Sanchez’s colossal wages have also caused huge disruption within the United dressing room, particularly with David de Gea and Paul Pogba.

Inter, who are due to be managed by former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte next season, are willing to give Sanchez a way out of his Old Trafford hell but only if he is willing to take a significant pay cut.

It’s more than likely that United will be forced to subsidise his wages in order to convince Sanchez to leave, though there have been talks about a potential transfer.

Sanchez may not be the only United player to join Inter this summer, with Romelu Lukaku also a transfer target for the club if Conte takes over.

The Italian wanted to sign Lukaku during his time as Chelsea manager and the United striker has already dropped big hints about a summer move to Serie A.

Sanchez has struggled to stay fit for prolonged periods during his time at United and has apologised to supporters for not discovering his best form.

The 30-year-old has scored just three league goals in 32 league appearances for United and will go down as one of the club’s worst ever signings.
