Barcelona have announced Adriano has accepted the decision to extend his contract by a further season keeping him at the club until June 2017.
Adriano, 31, has entered the final few months of his current deal and had looked set to leave in the summer after barely featuring under Luis Enrique.
However, the reigning European champions have now announced the versatile defender will now remain at the Camp Nou for a further season.
Adriano has made just six starts across the league and Champions League this summer and has dropped further down the pecking order following the arrival of Aleix Vidal in January.
