Everton plot move for Barcelona outcast

Everton have entered the race to sign Barcelona outcast Malcom, claims Spanish outlet SPORT.

Barcelona are looking to offload Malcom after just one season at the club and Zenit are considered the favourites for his signature.

The Russian giants have already agreed personal terms with Malcom but are struggling to agree a fee with Barcelona.

Zenit have tabled an offer of €35m (£32.1m) plus €5m (£4.6m) in performance related add-ons but Barcelona are holding out for an initial €41m (£37.6m) fee.

Barcelona are keen for Malcom to consider other options and Everton have reportedly launched a €40m (£36.7m) bid for the 22-year-old winger.

Everton have signed Yerry Mina, Lucas Digne and Andre Gomes from Barcelona over the last 12 months and are now looking to prise Malcom from the Camp Nou as an alternative to Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.

Barcelona spent £36.5m to sign Malcom from Bordeaux 12 months ago but the Brazilian has failed to force his way into Ernesto Valverde’s first-team plans.

Antoine Griezmann’s arrival from Atletico Madrid this summer has knocked Malcom further down the pecking order and Barcelona are still working on a deal to re-sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain.

Malcom made 15 league appearances for Barcelona last season and only six of those came as starts. He scored one goal and provided two assists in that time.
