On the eve of Real Madrid's Champions League tie with Roma, Zinedine Zidane has spoken of his desire to retain the services of star man Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portugal international netted four goals in the 7-1 drubbing of Celta Vigo at the weekend to take his total to 27 for the season, more than any other player in Europe's top five leagues this term.
However, speculation persists that Real Madrid will look to cash in on the 31-year-old this summer, with Zidane reporredly keen to build the side around Gareth Bale.
The Frenchman, though, has stated his intention to keep Ronaldo at the Bernabeu.
"I am the coach and I want Cristiano," Zidane is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
"They whistled me and everyone else. It is not questioning the player, it is a fan base that always wants more from their players and that is good for the players to improve and always do well."
