Villarreal midfielder earns new deal

 

Villarreal have announced Manu Trigueros has put pen to paper on a new six-year deal keeping him at the club until at least 2022.

 

Trigueros, who had three years remaining on his previous contract, has been in sublime form for the Yellow Submarines and Fran Escriba’s side have secured successfully move to secure his long-term future.

 

The 25-year-old has progressed through the ranks at Villarreal since joining the club in 2010 and must now be on the cusp of the Spanish national side after an impressive start to the season.

 

Trigueros has formed an impressive partnership alongside veteran midfielder Bruno at the heart of Villarreal’s midfield and has thrived, propelling Escriba’s side to an impressive third spot in La Liga.

In fact, only Bruno (64.2) averages more passes per game for Villarreal in La Liga this season than Trigueros (57.2). Not only that, but only one player has won possession in the midfield third more times than the Villarreal midfielder (49).
