Chelsea will step up their interest in Lazio defender Stefan De Vrij and make another bid in January, according to Calciomercato, via The Sun.
Antonio Conte’s side reportedly had a £34m offer for the centre back rejected in the summer as Chelsea searched for defensive reinforcements.
Chelsea eventually turned back to David Luiz on the final day of the transfer market but that hasn’t put an end to their interest in De Vrij.
No Lazio player has completed more interceptions in Serie A this season than De Vrij (8).
