Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper set for Torino medical

Salvatore Sirigu will undergo his medical with Torino on Monday after Paris Saint-Germain agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent, reports Le Parisien.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper spent the second half of last season on loan at Osasuna after dropping out of contention at PSG with Kevin Trapp and Alphonse Areola preferred in goal.

Sirigu’s current PSG deal is due to expire at the end of the month but Unai Emery’s side have agreed to terminate the contract early in order to allow Torino to speed up his signing.

Torino had Manchester City loanee Joe Hart between the sticks last season and they will hope for better when Sirigu, who has been capped 17 times for Italy, returns to his homeland this summer.

Of goalkeepers that made at least five appearances in La Liga last season, Sirigu had the worst save success rate (50%).
